YOGAGO - An Ethical Embrace: Where Wellbeing, Beauty & Sustainability Meet

In the world of wellness and yoga, more and more people are seeking not just ways to care for their bodies, but a path toward ethical awareness and respect for the planet.

Within this movement, YOGAGO was born — a brand that goes beyond wearability, creating garments designed as tools of presence, balance, and respect for both the environment and the people behind their creation.

I sat down with Paola, Founder & Creative Director of YOGAGO, to learn more about the brand’s philosophy and vision.

E: Let’s start with your “why.” What inspired you to create YOGAGO, and which values guide your design and production choices today?

Y: YOGAGO was born from the desire to create clothing that goes beyond the idea of a “uniform” for practice — garments that can become allies in the emotions, sensations, and states of presence that accompany us throughout the day.

We approach clothing as a form of well-being — not only physical, but also emotional and spiritual.

Our core values are:

  • Functionality: garments that support movement and comfort.

  • Ethics: certified materials and sustainable production practices.

  • Conscious beauty: timeless design that honours individuality and authenticity.

These values reflect a growing demand for transparency and responsibility in the fashion world. It’s essential for brands to move beyond slogans and embrace concrete, shared practices — reducing impact and building real trust with their communities.

E: Clothing as a tool for presence. During a retreat, what role do you think clothing plays in fostering comfort, grounding, and connection with oneself and the experience?

Y: For many, clothing can become an energy that helps attune to the present moment.

During a retreat, every detail matters: the food, the space, the silence — and also what we wear. Our pieces are designed to enhance this sense of immersion, offering comfort, breathability, and freedom of movement without distraction.

When a garment is soft, light, and allows full freedom, it becomes a silent ally of introspection. Wearing something that “disappears” lets us be truly present — supporting connection with ourselves and with the environment around us.

Fabric quality and design are fundamental tools for deepening meditative experiences. Care for ergonomics translates into more authentic practices, making clothing a bridge between body and mind.

E: Sustainability as a practice, not just a word. Many talk about conscious fashion — how do you translate sustainability into concrete choices (materials, production, durability, packaging, etc.)?

Y: For YOGAGO, sustainability is a living practice — an evolving path made of conscious, daily choices.

  • We use GRS-certified fabrics (Global Recycled Standard), made from recycled materials such as marine plastic and regenerated fibres.

  • We collaborate with a women-led local atelier, sharing values of empowerment and respect.

  • We design long-lasting garments that encourage mindful consumption and oppose the “throwaway” culture.

  • We promote a slow fashion approach, prioritising quality and durability over trends.

These choices show how brands can contribute to real change, proving that sustainability and beauty can coexist — gracefully and without compromise.

E: The idea of a “garment that lasts over time.” Is there a specific piece in your collection that embodies this principle?

Y: The Cloud Set represents this idea perfectly.
It’s designed to offer an enveloping sense of comfort — like being hugged by a cloud. Soft and generous in shape, it supports multiple moments: yoga sessions, meditation, travel, and retreats. Its lightness and compactness make it the perfect companion for movement and rest alike.

Its versatility allows it to be worn across seasons — layered with a sweatshirt or knit in colder months, or paired with a light top in summer. This creates the foundation for a minimalist, thoughtful wardrobe made of fewer but better pieces — garments that integrate seamlessly and stand the test of time.

The philosophy of durable design is key to countering fast fashion culture, promoting conscious and sustainable consumption. Longevity and versatility embody how ethics can meet practicality — offering real value to both people and the planet.

E: Design that moves with you. How do you balance functionality, aesthetics, and consciousness to create garments that not only look good but feel right — for yoga, travel, and a slower way of living?

Y: Everything starts from the body and the practice.
Our garments are tested by yoga teachers and long-time collaborators to ensure comfort, freedom, and support in the right places. The design emerges from experience, so that every detail feels natural and functional.

The energy of beauty also plays an essential role. Wearing something that makes us feel good and honours our individuality helps us enter a state of presence and self-respect. For us, aesthetics is not just decoration — it influences our energetic well-being.

Our goal is to create essential, timeless pieces that accompany people through slower rhythms, daily journeys, and distant travels.
Fewer pieces, designed with intention, that adapt to different contexts and seasons.

Intelligent fashion should celebrate simplicity and longevity — fostering a more conscious relationship with our wardrobe and with nature. Only through this shift can we truly change how we consume and live.

E: One piece of advice for conscious facilitators and travellers. What would you recommend to those preparing for a retreat when choosing clothing that supports the body and respects the planet?

Y: Choose clothes that make you feel good — at ease, present in your body.
You don’t need to bring much: less but better is the key.

Prioritise artisan, responsible brands like YOGAGO, who care about every detail — from ethical production to product durability.

A conscious lifestyle is built on quality, reduced waste, and harmony with the environment. Bringing a few, well-chosen garments allows you to live the retreat experience more fully, with fewer distractions — and more respect for the planet.

This approach celebrates the power of small gestures and everyday choices that can contribute to a more sustainable world. Choosing ethical clothing also means supporting companies that embody genuine commitment.

YOGAGO stands as a living example of how fashion, wellbeing, and responsibility can move together.
These are not just garments — they are tools of transformation, ethical choices that invite us to live with greater presence, respect, and awareness.

Because, ultimately, true wellbeing begins with harmony — between what we wear, what we choose, and the world we wish to create.
